Our 7th grade language arts teacher has challenged each of her students (100 kids) to read 5 books per 9 week grading period. She wants to instill a love of reading in the kids, and would rather not "bribe" them with prizes, but feels this may be the only way to motivate some to read. She would like to reward those students that meet this goal, but she has a budget of $50. She has asked the PTO to come up with some creative awards that have a link to reading (doesn't want candy/food type of awards). Books would be wonderful but will probably be more than her budget...only other thing we can think of are bookmarks. Any ideas?
