Maybe a posting of vision and mission statement

and a discussion of what each think the others roles are

a Parlamentarian- to keep on topic and people in line

discussion of goals, needs, wants

the ones criticizing or thinking the board is 'sticking their nose in' who are they?

The committees report to the Board who
report to the members

In a perfect world the members decide to run an activity/fundraiser/event the committee administers it with member and board support

I am a new PTO president feeling abandoned before I even begin. I live in a very small village where everyone knows everyone so on so on...
Our school swithed over from a PTA to a PTO
two years ago, I served on the board last year yet things seemed to go well. At the end of the year last year our president resigned and nominated me a president before I could answer I was president. My problem is the same people voting me in are the ones I am having trouble with. I ask a question or make a suggestion. I am bitterly attacked for trying to get the fact straight or make a suggestion.Or told the Board is sticking their nose in where it doesn't belong.
As a president I would like to know how our committees work/and what they do so I can better answer question from the members or the faculty.
Thankfully our teacher and principals like the new changes. What do I do about the committees.
I want to help our new families get involved but I myself do not know what to say to them.
