Spring Carnival

Some of ours in the past have included a petting zoo. Around here, there are some individuals who do that as a business. They bring a few cuddly animals with a small portable fence. You can rent the petting zoo package for a few hours for a birthday party or event. (Animals, fence, handlers.)

Usually it's a popular activity with the kids. But do check it out. I was at someone else's school last year and what they had as petting zoo was pretty lame - a grumpy lady with two or three sad looking animals in pet carriers. Yuk!

www.rebeccas.com has a wide variety of colored hair spray. We just had our annual "Winter Carnival" on Jan. 20th and I searched everywhere for it until I came across them. They have a lot of other neat carnival items also. I enlisted my husband to help me build some new games this year (plinko, snowman knock down, sticky dart toss, para trooper landing, etc.) Plinko can be a little time consuming, but well worth it. Other games we had include:
lollipop tree, basketball toss, cake walk, 2-liter drink ring toss (where they get to keep the 2-liter they can get the ring around), fishing hole, tattoo parlor, moonwalk, sand dig, golf challenge, bowling, tic-tac-toe, ping pong toss, sand art bracelets, football throw, sticky dart throw, hair coloring, bingo, necklace craft table, lucky duck pond, baseball pitch, and balloons. Along with cotton candy, popcorn, food booth, and a silent basket auction. Oriental Trading has a lot of neat items along with carnivalsaver.com Hope this helps and good luck with your carnival!!~

We use Oriental Trading alot. Some people on here use Rhode Island Novelty. I believe the website is rinovelty.com. I looked it up yesterday because we want to do a color hairspray booth and I can't find it anywhere else.

At the elementary day and night games are done. But for our upcoming winter fest we are going to do day time games only. We are going to do a Toy Walk. Much like a cake/prize walk, just with toys. I am excited about that. Here are some other booths we plan to do:

Movie Room/conscessions
Ring Toss (with 20 soft drink bottles)
School supply shop (novelty pencils, erasers, etc)
Football Toss
Free throws
Lollipop tree (prizes will be gym passes and homework passes)
Quarter Drop
Jail
Photo Shop
Guess how many (probably use M&Ms)
Craft room (hopefully)
Archery (?) haven't made up my mind on that one yet

Toliet paper toss is a big hit too. It is easy to make. If you could find a dunk tunk that would be good. We had a couple of teachers that desinged something like it. The people sit under a bucket and it the kids hit the target the bucket dumps on their head. I'd like to make a plinko board too. You could use that in or out. There is a long list. Keep searching on here and I am sure you will get alot of ideas.

DUNK TANK! We made a nice profit off of our tank, the kids and teachers love it, and we did ours inside! An outside dunk tank would be even better.
