Your lost and found

I'm sorry but that is crazy! They may as well say "If your child loses and item, we will hide it until you come beg for it, and no staff member will help you get it back." At some point, every school will have misplaced or unclaimed items and not making them accessible will only increase said pile. I would mention that the Lost and Found is full in your next newsletter, asking parents to come in if they notice things are missing.

The irony of commitment is that it’s deeply liberating-in work, in play, in love. The act frees you from the tyranny of your internal critic, from the fear that likes to dress itself up and parade around as rational hesitation. To commit is to remove your head as the barrier to your life. --Anne Morris

I am about to lose it! I went to school this week to help in the copy room and the bin is overflowing! The bin is three feet by three feet cube and it was stuffed full!
Okay so Admin is not happy with the bin and here are the guidlines I have been asked to follow.

when setting
> up your process to return any lost items, please consider the following:
>
> 1. The bin will be checked on a weekly basis to remove items, which may be
> rotting (e.g. Lunch Boxes).
> 2. Please take the initiative to empty the bin twice a month. Waiting for the
> bin to fill up becomes a health issue.
> 3. Lost and Found items waiting to be claimed may not be stored in the front
> office or in any classroom.
> 4. When coordinating with parents for claiming lost and found items (e.g.
> Conference Days), please fill out an activity request for final approval. Use
> FCN as one of the means to notify parents.
> 5. Office staff members will not be available to assist with locating students
> to return items and students may not be interrupted from class time to return
> items.
>
> Once the parents have the opportunity to claim items on Conference Days the
> volume should decrease significantly.
>
> Again, thank you for taking on this important project.
I think I counted close to 100 coats from the bin. Please!I need some ideas! This is crazy! --I mentioned we put a sign, it never stayed up.
