Stolen Camera

How old were the children in the class where the camera was taken from? Where there any other adults around who could have taken it?

I too would be suprised that they did not let you know the camera was taken. I would want to talk to the principal about it to see what he/she has to say about it and to see what they have done in terms of trying to get the camera back. Including a letter being sent home to the parents of the kids in that classroom to inform them that one of them took the camera (assuming there was no one else around to walk off with it). I would also want to know in the future what will be done by the principal/staff to safeguard future items your group donates. Ifee for you. This happening is really awful and disheartening.

I wasn't sure where to put this but I need some advice and to get it off my chest. Our PTO just bought a digital camera and accessories for our school. We just found out last week that it was stolen. We found out accidentally. Our treasurer went in to get the camera to use for our Santa breakfast and they had to tell her it was missing. She met me coming out and told me, I went in and the school secretary told me it had been missing 2 days. She said a teacher was using it to take student of the month pictures, put it on her desk, turned around, and it was gone. I'm not sure of the time frame. I'm upset because the camera is missing, it was close to $400. I don't blame the teacher. She was using it and needed to put it down (unless she left it on her desk when she left the room but I don't think that's the case, she is very responsible and felt awful). I think I'm really upset by the fact that the school didn't notify PTF and we found out accidentally. I don't even know if we would know now that it's gone if we hadn't needed it. I'm also upset because the principal has yet to talk to me about it and I have been in school. I've talked to him briefly about other stuff. I'm not sure how much the school has done too about finding out where it is. It amazes me that a parent would not know their child has a digital camera that does not belong to them! (I suppose if they took it home) Thanks for letting me get this off my chest. Any thoughts, advice.
