For a kindergarten craft project for our winter Holiday classroom party, I wanted to help the children make the classic pine cone bird feeder (aka: cover a pine cone with peanut butter then cover the peanut butter with bird seeds, add a ribbon and open your own birdie 4 star restaurant).
My problem is that one of the children in class is very allergic to peanuts. So obviously the peanut butter is right out.
Does anyone know if Crisco would work just as well? or would this be very bad for the birds?
