I'll second that motion! The Zimmerman book is just enough RRO info - not too intimidating. Only about 100 pages and about $5.

What you're looking for is "Robert's Rules of Order." You can search through Amazon books and will find a number of options; I'm partial to the Robert's Rules in Plain English" book by Doris Zimmerman. This will give you some guidance in terms of basic things like how to make motions, vote, make reports, etc.

I guess i was caught off guard when you said "a proper way" to run a PTO. You can run it the way your members/school wants the bylaws to state. Our pto is low keyed and shys away from the formality of things, others live by robert rules. You should be able to find the book at any bookstore under management or try googling it, lots of stuff come up! Good Luck!
