Merchant Visa for PTO

18 years 8 months ago #73575 by Mike Schoen
jongirl,

We have done some research and found a company Payquake that is willing to give PTOs a good deal on setting up merchant accounts. They have excellent customer service which is one of the key items we looked for when doing our research. Here is a link to their site Payquake website . Notice they waive the early termination fee for PTOs, so you can try it out and see what you think.

I think this is a SUPER post as I have always felt we could raise alot more if we took credit cards; however, I've done no research as yet so hopefully someone will have some input soon and meanwhile, I'll make some calls.

Hi! We are a newly "reorganized" PTO. We have incorporated in our state and have just submitted our 501c3 application to the IRS. A very common request from parents is to use a credit card to make purchases from us. We would love to accomodate them, but I know nothing about it. So here are my questions:

Do you accept credit cards?
Where did you find the lowest fees?
Do you absorb the fees or do you pass them on to the parents?
How hard is it to qualify for a merchant visa?

Thanks! I appreciate any help you can give me!
