I've never heard of CHAMPS, but our school uses the Make Your Day program... www.makeyerday.com/ .... and I highly recommend it! It's amazing how well it has worked with our students!

CBrooks...I haven't heard of the CHAMPS program but our school recently became involved in PBIS (poistive behavioral interventions supports) This program is a program that uses a system wide approach to teaching postive behaviors and meeting the needs of all students. THe focus is on making a school environment that every student can learn from. There are school expectations as far as behavior, direct teaching of the behaviors, acknowledgement of that behavior and also office referrals to record bad behavior.
Bad Behavior is tracked by when it occurs and where, from there they try to come up with ways of reinforcing what behavior at that time and place should look like.
This program is hard to get into because the school needs to have a universal team and there are trainings. It is covered alot by grants/funds so that helps take some of it off your district. Not sure if this is anything you might want to consider looking at, but thought I would share! Please explain what champs is...thanks

I actually went to the first board of ed meeting of last school year. They talked about the CHAMPS program with high reviews. It is some sort of discpline program that the whole district would use. I haven't found much info on the net about it. It does sound like a good idea. Yesterday when I talked to the treasurer to set up the first board meeting for the new school year she told me that the school was wanting to purchase a CHAMPS book for each teacher and the cheapest she had found the books were $1500.00. I hate to ask for that kind of money right off the bat. I am a new officer and new to the school. I was wondering if any of you knew where we could get these books cheaper or if there is some kind of grant we could apply for concerning this program. I think it would be nice to for the teachers to have these books.
