Our school has them, only like 3rd yr its been done. Dont know much other than their sold at cost an that not a lot have been sold, even at only $10. (one of the few projects, I dont have my grubby little fingers in)
My daughter was the only 1 out of 21 students in her 1st grade class that has purchased it.

My son just got his yearbook last Friday. He's in the third grade. I wasn't sure about yearbooks in the elementary level but as a parent, I like being able to look back on the music program or Donuts with dad. They do change so much. He enjoys getting his friend's signatures. We didn't have yearbooks in the primary grades when I was a kid but we did have autograph books. These are just fancier. We also sell ours at cost or just below actually. With our extra yearbooks, we "donated" some to students whose families could not clearly afford them. In order to avoid over ordering, we do a pre-order and then we buy about 15-20 extra.
So yes, I think it is worth it. Perhaps you need to try a different method of putting it together rather than eliminating it...

I think that year books are great for elementary school kids. We do ours on a pre order basis in December and order maybe 20 more and they seem to go fast.We are a school of about 550. Ours are sold at cost also. We also keep a copy in the school library from every year so that the kids can see them. Maybe you could have a yearbook committee to get everything together for the school. I find myself looking back at my old yearbooks from when I attended the same school my kids are going to now and I just love it!

How many of you have yearbooks at your elementary schools? This is something we are thinking of eliminating from our school. They are WAY too much work for the help we get. We sell them at cost, more as a service than a fundraiser. We have 750 kids at our school. We ordered 450 and still had 100 left the last week of school. It just doesn't seem worth the effort to quite a few of us.
We never had them when I was a kid. That was for Middle and High school.
