Should I apologize??

UGH... a couple weeks ago our school held elections for our new school board and plans were the polls would close the last night at 7:00 pm and we would count ballots soon afterwards. Well, the other parent that was on the Election Committee with me was very addimit about keeping things on time and following the guidlines we have to run the election. Okay...she had also been a pain in the asperation about EVERYTHING and was getting on my last nerve not to mention the lack of help running the actual election (I was the election judge since I could be at the school that day from 7-7!). So with emotions and the fact I was tired, 7:00 comes and we are waiting for 2 parents to vote; clean-up; wait for a couple of the candidates and ready to go to the meeting room when everyone is looking for her. Fifteen minutes go by and noone can find her! Twenty minutes pass and she comes into the meeting room and sits down next to me. She smells of cigarette. I almost lost it! Just days before she was upset because she saw a teacher smoking but it's okay for her! I turned to her and said " you were outside, we waiting for you because you had to go outside!" "yeah" " We have been waiting for you and you were outside...." " Yeah I was waiting for the Distrist rep" "Well, she's been waiting for you for fifteen minutes too! You were outside!" By now the other volunteer touched my arm and said let's get started.

I have never been THAT mad or had to refrain myself. She had been so strict with every detail up until that point I felt as if I was under such scrutny(sp) for three weeks not to screw up this election but hey it's okay if she holds everything up to have a smoke! I don't care if she smokes, that's her choice but when you have fifteen people waiting for results of a stressful election, couldn't it have waited!

Maybe the bigger issue is she has questioned EVERY thing that has been going on and analizing so much it's hard to have a casual conversation. She was also the Vice President and I was the Secretary but as of Monday I was elected Pres and she didn't run.

Right now I thing the summer break from each other is the best thing I can do...
