Problems with board member

What do he By-Laws of your organization say about this? Ours specifically state that a board member may be removed for actions detrimental to the whole PTO. If the Board does not vote to go to the superintendent, then she has no right to represent your organization. She does have the right to go as an individual parent. Good Luck! We had that statement in our By-Laws for a reason and she has now moved to another state! (Besides the state of confusion).

Our principal had the same problem with some parents at our school, even though they weren't on the PTO at the time. (They later joined the PTO and made our live a living nightmare!) Hopefully your super will be able to see right through these people, and come down on the principal's side.

You need to let EVERYBODY know that the opinions of this rogue band of parents in no way represent the opinions of the PTO as a whole. It's a hard situation when you have to deal with people like this, but you just need to keep supporting your principal any way you can. Good luck.

As a parent (whether you agree with her or not) she has a right to complain, have opinions etc. She does not however have the right to do it as a representative of your group.

I think that a letter from your board and a copy to her as well is a good idea, saying that as a group you have no official position. (Unless, your group actually voted that they didn't like the principal.)

As a parent, you can write your own endorsement of the principal or even choose to defend her verbally.

They're not going to fire her just because a small group of parents want it. But just in case, have those parents who do support her, rally around her and share those opinions so that the super isn't only getting one side.

What does the principal say about this situation? Have you considered speaking to the superintendent and letting him/her know that you do not support the Presidents views? (I would CC the Pres a copy)
I would think that as the President she should be required to remain impartial and if she's not are there steps you can take to have her removed? Sounds to me like this type of person can not be good for the school, whereas the principal is. I had parents like this too and when I wouldnt side with them they turned the tables on me and now the principal is stuck in the middle. As much as you want to maintain a reasonable relationship with this person you have to do what feels right for you and for the school.

HELP!! One of our board members has been having issues with our new principal since the first day of school this year. It is all ridiculous petty stuff. The other 3 of us don't have any probs with the principal. This board member has decided to take matters into her own hands, and has rallied a group of 6 other moms (all her friends) and had a meeting with the superintendant about wanting our principal fired! This whole thing is getting completely out of hand. There is no validity to any of her complaints and she is making all of us look like complete jerks. I've tried talking to her and calming her down but nothing is working and I feel really sorry for the principal! This is her first year as an administrator and she is being bombarded with B.S. complaints from this group of idiots and now they have gone over her head to her boss to try and get her out. She is WONDERFUL with all the kids, and im my opinion that is more important than holding hands with irate parents...especially when their kids are all in kindergarten. They don't have a basis for comparrison, their kids aren't *usually* in trouble, so they shouldn't have to deal with her anyway. I think they just like to make trouble..a very abrasive group. What should I do? I'm 100% on the side of the principal, and I don't want to start crap with my co-worker..we still have to be able to work together somehow. Any suggestions?????????/ PLEASE???????
