Teacher Christmas Party--our solution

We are doing a lunch for teachers on the last day of school before break. The kids get out at 11:30 so we are doing lunch for the teachers after that. Much less expensive than dinner and we don't have to feed the spouses or rent space. We're doing it at school. It is catered, but won't cost us much and hopefully they will enjoy it.

I posted something a few days ago about this. Heard from the grapevine that some teachers resent having to pay $$$ for a couples Xmas party and think we should be doing something for them. I asked around locally and found that two public schools, 1 elementary and 1 high school, do actually put on a Christmas party for their teachers. The elementary school secures a home (from one of their parents) and has the party after school with all food donated by parents. The high school sends letters out to a target support group asking if they would like to donate $10 or donate food. Then they put on some sort of luncheon at the school.

It's too late for us this year, but perhaps next year we'll do something like this...(not the country club party).
