Ughhhhhhhh!!

Oh, and I forgot. In the minutes there was a suggestion from a board member about wanting to have family events. It was shot down because it is so time consuming.

I had plans in place to do family events, one a semester and then maybe some of these smaller events offered here. Which, I was told last spring, when I took this over, would be good. Then a few weeks ago I was told I couldn't do the events. Not even off campus. It wasn't in the budget and I wasn't allowed to spend funds this way. The funds we raise and are suppose to have control over.

I need to vent.

I am soooo fed up with our school and want to quit something desperately. I won't though because I know no one will step in to my spot this year and I made a commitment and feel I need to honor it. Damn my sense of honesty!!

Here is my *LATEST* complaint:
I had to miss our October school board meeting. When reviewing the minutes I noticed some things that were incorrect. I'm sure they were discussed at the meeting, just not correct information.

I am in this by myself. No one will help. We normally have a fundraiser every month. I wasn't going to do that. Last year I felt like way too much was being asked way too often. 90% of the parents felt that way. So we were going to change it to one major fundraiser in the Spring (we're also collecting labels, cell phone, printer cartridges, etc). Well, the director of this school kept pulling me aside and letting me know that I'm supposed to do a fundraiser this fall regardless.

After many other problems, I gave in. By this time, I just didn't care and wanted to get through the year. So, we did cookie dough. It was very successful for our little school and even less participation. Anyways, I mentioned it at the SEpt. school board meeting and they said it was fine to do whatever fundraiser. I then had several conversations with the director of our school about it who was behind it (at least that is the impression she gave me).

Back to the minutes...The minutes said that I didn't understand what our Parent Club is to do or how to run (we have no by-laws which I'm trying desperately to get going), and that all fundraisers are to be approved through the school board and by our director. Check the minutes people!! The sept. minutes had approval in there.

There was also a topic in there under new business that I wasn't doing enough to try and write by-laws. I'm in this 100% by myself!! Running and doing everything. I can get NO communication from anyone. I've asked. I've emailed. I've sent letters. There is no past records from parent groups in the past. Our director is the worst in this stuff. I'm getting so ticked off.

This school has so many problems and many relate to our directors lying and pig headedness. I swear she is one of the most two-faced people I have ever met. It's a small private, church school and I really don't think I'm going to send my son back next year. We have many private schools in the area that are excellent.

Oh, and I've tried to talk to our director too. She keeps cutting me off at the knees. And I can't go to the school board, because she's there as part of the board!! And because she's been there 5 years, she gets the benefit of the doubt when things arise. And she controls and moves the conversation when there are problems.

I don't know what to do. I'm just plain mad.
