Do you offer refreshments at meetings?

We actually serve lunch! A few years ago, they used to have our meetings at 8 a.m. and about 5 people would come. Then they changed them to be lunch meetings and they started serving lunch and having different people "donate" the food. We usually have about 20-30 people there. This year, I changed it up a bit and assigned a different month to each grade. In other words, 8th grade room moms are responsible for organizing the lunch for the September meeting. I don't know that I think it's a mandatory thing, but it sure is nice that we eat a nice lunch while we meet. We put out a basket and ask for donations.

One year the VP decided to bring in a light supper for the members! The issue many of us had with it later were the members that were only coming for the food....that's it. Well now we really don't serve food as we have been asked not to (school spent thousands on pest control ;) ).

I would love a snack...something!

Hi...when our group started three years ago the principal would bring refreshment, it always seemed to go back home with her! We now have refreshments at the first and last meeting. This year I also had cake in april to celebrate volunteer week. Other than that not usually , unless its just like candy in a dish on the table we sit at. Has never been a big thing for us!

Hey,
In the past few years we have gotten away from providing refreshments at meetings - but we're thinking about starting again. Just wondering how many do offering them - and if any one has any clever, easy or interesting ideas!

Thanks, guys!
