I'm quitting

BOY--I get busy for a few weeks, and the boards are going crazy!!

nonsequitur--if you leave I will be CRUSHED--as everyone has been saying you are an integral part of these boards, and I would be so sad to not see you anymore!

I have a similar PIA, and working around mine has been NO walk in the park, so BELIEVE ME--I know what you're going through! It is beyond reason that a principal is treating anyone this way. The worst is that the kids/parents miss out because one a-hole has ruin it for everyone. It's completely aggravating to see one person have that much power over so many.

While I understand your need to step back, I really hope you won't stay away from the boards--I'll miss you!

PS--I have to agreed with backhoed on the CAPS--it's so hard to read!

If doing the right thing was easy, everyone would do it...
I feel awful for you. I have a unit going through the same thing. But what can you do.
don't leave the boards though! I'd miss you!!!
This is for you (and anyone else feeling unappreciated!)

Hello,
I understand exactly. I HAVE WORKED WITH YOUTH FOR 6 YEARS NOW. THE THING THAT KEEPS ME GOING IS - I CAN NOT MAKE EVERYONE HAPPY. I AM IN IT FOR THE CHILDREN (MY CHILDREN). SOMETIMES PEOPLE THAT COMPLAIN ARE THE ONES THAT DO THE LEAST. I FOCUS ON WHAT IS BEST. I HAVE BEEN THERE. HANG IN THERE AND COME UP WITH SOME OTHER WAY TO HELP THE CHILDREN.

DO YOU WANT TO MOVE TO FLORIDA? WE COULD REALLY USE YOU. IF YOU FEEL THAT YOU HAVE TO STOP AT THE SCHOOL PLEASE CONTINUE TO STAY ON THE BOARD. YOU HAVE REALLY COOL IDEAS(PRACTICAL TOO) THAT WE ALL CAN USE. MAYBE NOW IS JUST YOUR TIME TO MOVE IN A DIFFERENT DIRECTION. I WISH YOU THE BEST IN WHATEVER YOU END UP DOING.

I knew I didn't want to check back. :(

I really loved what I was doing. I've been thinking of doing it as a profession. Not a lot of money in fundraising for nonprofits but it was exciting, stimulating, rewarding and plain fun.

The reason I stuck it out for so long is because of those reasons plus everyone else is a joy to work with and I adore the school.

But the principal feels that this is her baby and has made my life miserable. I have gained 10 pounds this summer. I'm constantly stressed.

She doesn't have any integrity. She made it clear that she's willing to dodge fees, hold illegal events and suppress information that helps the low income families in our school because it takes a little out of her budget. I can't see anymore.

I am heart broken and embarrassed to do this but it is hurting me and my family. I still plan to volunteer at the school, but in something she doesn't micromanage.

I know it's a rare person that will stick his neck out like I'm insane enough to do, but I can't do something that hurts my family and me. I really hope they can do it without me.
