I posted asking for Boxtops for Education and got 2 replies. One lady said she saves everything, but didn't know what to do with them.Well, now she's sending them to me and all it's costing me is a few stamped, self-addressed envelopes!
Another nice thing is that you meet the nicest people and they can be a treasure trove of useful information.

The posts that I saw were all for used items, but free half cans of paint is still free paint!

I stumbled across this site and it has really proven itself to me. www.freecycle.org This is the main site. From here, you choose your area to see if there's a local chapter. If not, you can start one.
Basically, you post what you might have to give away and also what you may be looking for. I already found someone willing to send me Boxtops--I just had to send her a SASE since she's too far away for me to pick them up.It can be a great resource for things like craft supplies, items you might need for a carnival, etc. It doesn't hurt to ask--sky's the limit and at least for me, it seems that there are a lot of people out there willing to be of assistance.
