contacting pto?

Newbie- send your stuff out, sit back and wait for now. I'm not sure about how most schools handle their fundraisers but we get together in August to decide on what our spring fundraiser will be so we can get it voted on at our back-to-school night. When we meet again in March we start with what we want to do for the fall so that can get voted on.

I do collect information all year run, weed through it with the fundraising chair and bring it up at the two meetings.

This year we decided to stay away from the wrapping paper and go with pizza's, coupon books and educational items only.

Good luck on your new venture!

I'd guess its just bad timing also being most schools are out or getting out. I haven't been back to the school to get any fundraising mail since they got out which was over a month ago. Granted I know I need to get over there but hey its summer break hehehe Your best bet is the beginning of the year

Newbie -

Give us a call. 800-644-3561 -- ask for John W. We've got a bunch of folks here with fundraising experience.

It could possibly be a bad time as school is ending and the PTO/PTA boards are changing hands.
Most fall fundraising like fall catalogs are already booked.

Beyond that it is hard to say without knowing more about what type of fundraising program it is.
Fundraising is competitive like anything else. It may be easy to get a group who is not happy with whom they are currently using, but it will be extremely hard to get schools who are happy with whom they use, unless your company is offering them a better deal.

Again, it is hard to say without knowing what the product is and the specific of the program.

I have a sort of general question here, and I'd appreciate any input.
I just started working for a company that wants to branch out into school fundraising. So they've had me sending out informational packets to school admin. and PTO/PTA. I mail the stuff out, then follow up with an email or phone call (whatever I have available). It's already been a month, and I've gottn no response at all. No one returns calls or emails (and trust me, I've been very polite when leaving messages). Am I doing something horribly wrong? Or is this just a bad time at the end of the year? I'm not a parent myself, so I don't know any PTO members personally.
I'm not trying to spam here - I'm just honestly not sure what I'm doing wrong. Or, if this is just the way it works (I'm new to this kind of business!
Anyway, thanks for your time.
