Not sure if i should be mad or sad, or both. I just got all the materials from our PTA from the outgoing Pres. as I wil be taking the reins next year. We are going to be a PTO by the way in coming school year. Anyway, I was Pres. year before her, but pooped and she seemed to be willing and able (not!). Well, when I gave her all documents, etc. for previous year, I had them in a binder, reasonably orderly, and made references on various fundraisers and activities throughout the year, giving how well it was received, if it was profitable, who we should go to for donations etc. I am not tooting my horn. I did this because the outgoing pres. when I took over first time did it and it was so helpful to be able to refer to what was done, when, how and names of contacts, etc. So was rather upset to say the least, to get an armful of stuff from her , all loose, except for the PTA packet that national pta sends each summer, which she put in an old binder not big enough for anything else. Nothing in order. No notes, nothing. And to get to the PTO Today magazines, when i was Pres. i read each one as I got a lot from them to bring to our meetings. Or just good info as a parent. Well, you know when you get a new magazine how you can tell it has never been read before? The pages are tight, together, no wrinkles, rips, etc.? That is how she gave me all of last year's PTO Magazines. Never even opened one of 'em. I guess i should be glad she did not just chuck them. Made me glad I got the April one about changing leadership and what kilnd of ex leader you want to be. Since I did a lot of her work behind the scenes it was ironic. I got this one because i started taking the pta mail from the box to look for important stuff as she did not take the mail from one monthly meeting to the next. Anyway, she missed a wealth of info on many helpful topics. I accepted the job back for next year as my child in last year of elem. school and i felt guilty that i was the one who got her to accept the post. Oh well, thanks for just reading my vent.
