We do welcome packets for new people to our school after school starts, included inside is all the school info/state info school calendar, PTO info, Volunteer sheets, Local town map, Town voter registration forms,Library card forms and info about the library, other local orginazations information (Jaycees, Newcomers Club, Garden Club, Womens Club, Etc), we also include a book the chamber of comerce puts out called the Question and Answer Book for our town. I put it all in a decorated manilla envelope and the secretary puts them in the office to hand out. They say on the front compliments of the PTO! People love them!

At my daughter's elem. school, I am the VP of the PTO. We are trying to brainstorm new ways to get parents involved. Has your school every done "Welcome Baskets" for the new families after school has started? If so, what have you included in these baskets? Any suggestions, is greatly appreicatied !
