I feel They are opening a bag of worms with this. How are They going to choose a child? PTO/PTA are for all the children of the school. I personally would not join a PTO that caters to only their Board members. I don't see where this is an incentive.

Our board wants to propose that, beginning next year, board members be awarded a $250 scholarship that could be used to send their, or a child of their choosing, to camp.

Their reasoning is that there is no incentive for parents to be involved and that board members put in a lot of time etc.

Has anyone ever experienced anything like this? I agree that board members work hard but this seems a little over the top.
