Taking a moment....

I think a lot of people don't realize that the reason most people get into teaching is because they love kids and want to make a difference in the lives of children. It's certainly not for the money or prestige. Every day we send our children to spend the day with someone who loves them and shares their knowledge with them. What could be better than that?

It's sad to think that a child could have such feelings of hatred that they would plan to kill fellow students and teachers. Our children are growing up in such a frightening world. Just another reason to stay involved in your child's school and in their life.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and all those whose lives were needlessly taken on that sad day.

Hey Rocky, watch me pull a rabbit out of my hat.

Wendesday the police involved in the still ongoing investigation of the 1999 Columbine shootings released a video of the two teenage boys. It is believed the boys were practicing in the woods using the weapons that were used, the video was shot six weeks before that day in April.

October 21 would have been the 52nd birthday of the only teacher that was lost that day. Not many people know that he stayed with his class until help arrived, he later died due to blood loss from his injury.

We may not always agree with our teachers but this kind of courage and selfless thinking is what makes many of them a special friend we need.

Once again, thanks for listening.......
