front office volunteers?

Our school has two paid secretaries in the front office, so the desk is always covered. However, the PTO does provide a Mom during the lunch hours to provide band-aids, ice packs, and other TLC as necessary (for those recess boo boos.).

From what you've described, I'm surprised your principal has allowed these teenagers to continue in the job. Maybe they're still in the job because your principal hasn't figured out what to do when she "fires" them. If volunteers are essential, then it sounds like a good idea to see if you can organize a group of parents who could do it. How relieved your principal will be when you can offer her a ready-made solution to these rude teenagers.

Now....who's going to talk to the teenagers' parents about their manners?

Has anyone ever done this?? We had a GREAT gal for years and this summer had to leave us, now we have three teenage girls and well.... no one is very happy. NO ONE! They are rude, snotty, refuse to take lunches to kids, backpacks to students, take their time calling teachers if you need to pick them up early, the list goes on. I would like to ask the Principal if the PTO could organize a group of "Moms" to do this job but want to be armed with info before I talk to her.

These three girls are the first people you see when you enter our school, they are NOT what I would want a new parent to have to deal with.
