Does anyone do awards every 6 weeks

Our school has an all school awards assembly, twice a year, right after report cards. All students who have a B average are call up and given a certificate and then the students earning an A average or 4.0 GPA are called up. In addition to this assembly, usually done on a Thursday, we the Parent Club have Honor Roll Bingo for all students who earn a 3.1 GPA or higher, on Friday. These students get to miss 2 hours of class time to come to the gym and play Bingo for great prizes. They then go back to class with the prizes and show them off. At first we thought this might be rubbing the kids noses in the fact that they did not make Honor ROll, but we have about twice the amount of kids make honor roll for the second trimester than the first. All the kids want to do well so they can play bingo.

We have an awards ceremony after every report card. Grades 3,4,& 5 each have a separate day of awards; "A" Honor Roll, "B" Honor Roll, & Perfect Attendance, are all recognized, as are students who have improved at least one letter grade. We also have "Student of the Month" in each grade, based on the character trait being emphasized that month.
Awards include certificates, pencils, discount coupons to local attractions, and at the end of last year some kids got a watch, but I don't remember why (even though my son got one).

I'm not sure if this is an award, but we having something called Quincy Stars on the last Friday of every month. It is a chance to recognize the students for the little accomplishments they do such as improve in a subject. We don't have a honor roll since only 3 of our grades even do the traditional grading system. I did notice on our calendar that we will be having Academic Awards after each semester. Not sure what this involves. I hope to find out more at our meeting next week.

We have an awards program every nine weeks. It is based on "super skills" (respect, integrity, other character based qualities). This character education is highlighted throughout the year and is made a big deal by the administration and staff. The awards program also includes certificates for attendance. The ceremony takes place during school hours and parents are invited to attend.

Heathr - our school has an awards program every 9 weeks (our grading period). They have 3 separate programs during the day since our school is a k-5. The children receive awards for everything like the BUG award (so all children are included), Citizenship, Character Star, Outstanding Math, Most Improved Math, Outstanding Reader, Most Improved Reader, Book Club, Pioneer Pen (writing award) and I know others. The trophies come at the end of the year, but the children love getting awards throughout as they get gift certificates for ice cream parties and outside companies such as McDonalds' a local video store, and other great things. The school, not the PTO runs this for now as our PTO is brand new this year.

Our school (not PTO, the school) gives awards twice per year. Once mid-year, once at the end. Anyway, right in the middle, they give perfect attendance, honor roll, recognize everyone who was a "citizen of the week/month". Then at the end of the year they do the same thing for the second half and full year.

At one (I think the mid year)teachers of the younger grades give special awards to EVERY member of the class. Each one has a fun, personalized certificate complete with explanation. Math Star, Kind Words, Best Handwriting, Creative Stories, Big Smile, whatever.
