We are a charter school with 1200 students but are only allowed three fundraisers a year per our by-laws. We have Skate Party (hosted by a local skate rink) a no work fundraiser and the third usually changes year to year. This past year we raised $2000 and that is our total budget for this fall. No I'm not kidding. Our group does do alot more community service type of projects. This winter we were able to get a donation of winter coats for children of real need and did a very successful clothes drive too (we helped over 100 families with that). The local tv station did a health fair for the kids that we did spend $200 on for flyers etc. With the help of other "moms" we serve a potluck lunch to the staff during conferences and a huge BBQ for Appreciation Week. Something we did when the school was very new and there were only 200 families, the PTO hosted a Family pot luck night. It was great to met everyone and I still know a few of the families.
I love my K-12 school and the things we can do on a budget. Don't lose hope......
Our school has 320 students. We have 5 money making projects a year. A fall festival, pancake breakfast, Market Day, Box Tops, and we sell pizza cards. This past year we made over $19,000. We purchased benches for outside the school, playground equipment, software, 5 fieldtrips, and had a catered luncheon for the staff during Teacher Appreciation Week. It doesn't matter how big your school is it's how many parents get involved and want to make some improvements. I hope this helps you.
Hi! Guys! Its me again! I need your help. All I hear is how small we are and we can't do anything. I need ideas from the small schools. Sush as what kind of functions do you have, activites for the kids, fundraisers (how many a school year), and what do you do for the teachers? I hoping if I can show what other schools do we also can do it. Any input would be greatly appericiated! Thanks! :confused:
