Thank you for the advice. I'm currently trying to go back and figure out all the dates when everything happened. I called and had my cell phone company send me all my phone records of the incoming calls in the past 3 months. I'm also going to school today to get dates for all the meetings I attended in the past year with her, there are so many I will never be able to remember them all. Then I think I may just forget the whole issue until next month. I have to talk in front of the whole school board about all the events. So that the school board can decide what exactly happens now. As for being the PTO president I'm going to sit on all that till later.

#1 - Don't let what this crazy person (and her husband, and whoever else is involved) stop you from doing good work for the kids.

#2 - Document and CYA. Even if it's just a journal or notebook that you keep notes in - write down what you just wrote here with dates and times in the event it comes back to bite YOU in the butt. There are several here on this site who will tell you that it's not always possible to take the high road and I'm learning that they are correct!

#3 - Keep doing what you're doing - don't spread gossip and rumor, keep things like the phone call from the husband to yourself - but write it down!

#4 - Be grateful that your child won't be in this teacher's class again next year.

#5 - HAVE A GREAT SUMMER!

Ok I'm not sure where exactly this question should fit into the forum but here it goes I will try to be brief but I'm lost here! I'm the PTO president of our school and my son is in first grade his teacher has been nagging me about his grades and him staying on task. So I'm thinking as a concerned parent there has to be something I can do for my child so first I have him tested by the school psychologist and she tells me he is gifted but the teacher still believes he needs to be held back. So she also says parents call and complain about my son being aggressive in class to their children (which I find out later it was the teacher's nephew) The teacher repeatedly makes my child stand out in class by taping notes on the top of his desk and the other children make fun of him all day. This went on for months. So then as the PTO president we had an issue come up in the school with another teacher and I had to deal with it through all the school officials. After all that was taken care of I got a call on my cell phone from my son's teacher's husband. I hope this is making sense! So here I am talking to her husband and he asks me if I know anything about his wife having an affair with another teacher (the teacher we had to go the the school officials about) and I'm thinking the whole time they are trying to set me up with some bogus story or something. It was like unreal! I ask why he called me and he said that since I'm the PTO president at the school he figured I would know all the gossip (yeah right) Anyways I told him I knew nothing and he ask me not to tell anyone that he called me because he wanted to catch her at it. I thought this was horrible and consulted my aunt which works for the Senior high and she said I had better not say anything at all because they could press slander charges against me. So I buried that issue and acted like I never got the phone call. The whole time I couldn't help but think it had something to do with the way she treated my son in class. But today was the last day of school and he was promoted to second grade and I was happy the year ended, until car pick up came around and all of my son's classmates were saying hey Mrs.???? wants you to stop down at her room. So against my better judgement I went to see her and she says to me "I have heard all the rumors you are passing around about me" and then hands me a book "God's words of life for women" and says I hope you can find GOD in this book and bookmarks the Trust page. So I went to the building principal because I never said a thing! He blew me off and then I spoke to the school district's supernatant and he also talked to her and decided what she did was wrong but he didn't feel that it was a major event. And did nothing!!! Well I have nothing against a book about God but it was the manner in which she presented it to me and we were on school property and she was still on duty and had three children in her room. I don't think a paid professional should act this way! Does anyone have any comments on what you would do? I don't want to be the PTO president next year with all this going on. I feel a followed the chain of command and I'm still horrified at the thought that this lady thinks I was spreading rumors about her!
