Getting a flag

Help!! At our new building, we now have a great place to hang/display an American Flag. Doing some digging, I found the address of the Senator for the state of Colorado (well the one known for helping schools) and also know that we can request a flag that had been flown over the Capital in DC.
All sounds great, what do I write? I don't want to sound too needy and I realize how hard it will be right now to even get a flag (the school has been trying to purchase one since BEFORE Sept.11)
but I really feel it looks bad to have this awsome new building and no flag waving outside!

Funny story-- in Boulder there's a librarian that decided in the wake of 9/11 she didn't want to hang the flag that was given to the public library in the entry way because it is really big and didn't want to offend anyone! Yet if you walked in the side entry way there was and offense art display of a male part you wouldn't think of as art work (without being to graphic). This Senator was REALLY upset over the fact that a flag he had sent to the public library was still in the box! The story goes on but I wanted so much at that time to call him when he was on the radio and explain to him I have a better home for that flag!
