Jaki, Our school board saw it coming and we have an incredible personnal directer with such talent. We have 10 elementaries, 3 middle and one high. Our school system has a huge teacher luncheon. I do not know how they go about inviting all these new teachers but it is huge and they go over our school system with them and we recruit many from this event. He also hooked us up with a nearby teaching college and has struck some kind of deal with them that has to do with the college students teaching degree and working in our system. The college is also offering continued education for our staff at a reduced rate. One of those win win things. Because of these steps we are doing fairly well with teachers and are now focusing on the administative staff we will be losing in the next 5 years. If you would like to give your school board more information on our efforts have them contact our board of ed for the info. 1 216 529-4267. Best wishes!

I'm doing some research on the shortages of qualified educators for public schools, grades k-12. I'm wondering if anyone out there has some opinions they would like to voice as to why the shortage has occurred and why the demographic fluxuation. Did you see it coming? What direction and course of action must the government and local communities take in order to regain an ample pool of qualified educators? I thank you for your thoughts and time.
