You could earn a cash prize of up to $5,000 through the Save Our History National Honors!

Each year, The History Channel® honors teachers who creatively use local history to supplement their social studies or American History curricula. If you are a teacher who incorporates local history into your classroom curriculum through site visits, preservation efforts or other hands-on learning activities, you could win one of 24 $1,000 cash prizes in the Save Our History National Honors! One teacher will receive a $5,000 scholarship and a free trip to Washington, D.C., where he/she will be recognized as the Save Our History Teacher of the Year at the Save Our History National Honors Event in May 2006. EVERY teacher who submits an application for the National Honors will receive a DVD from The History Channel®.
