We also do Staff Appreciation Week. We feel we need to thank ALL the people who work in our school because they all help to make our school a great place for our kids.
Because there isn't a "day" for everyone, last year we decided to turn Teacher Appreciation Week into Staff Appreciation Week. That way no one feels left out and you don't have to constantly worry about getting all of the days right.

We gave our 2 secretaries gift certificates for manicures last year.... let me tell you, it was a big hit! We also splurged on our janitorial staff and got the 2 head custodians $50 and the third night custodian $25 at the local mall... I can't even begin to explain what a valuable resource our custodians are!
I think most custodians and secretaries are overworked and underappreciated... they deserve just as much thanks as the teachers.

giving to the secretary and the custodians on their appreciation day? I found some great ones for the teachers but no luck with the other two. I want things to be different this year because the last 10 years the same people ran our PTO and they really didn't do nice things for the teachers nor the secretary or custodians.
