Do any of you collect $$$ for teachers, teacher aids and school staff at the end of the year. In the past our room moms sent out letters asking if anyone wants to participate in a class gift. lately we have just given the teachers the cash that was collected. However, teachers that do not have homerooms have been excluded (and some hurt feelings). We are considering putting together a letter allowing people to send in their $$ and distributing the pool of money equally throughout the staff.
Do any of you know if there are any tax implications for the teachers if we do this?
Have any of you tried something like this and was it a success?
