Back to Reading Comprehension 101 for me. Sorry about that. Still wish you luck with changing your president's opinion and actions.

Your President is a numpty! While the money is important, PTO's could not function without parents helping out. After all what is your President?...She is a parent who is spending her hours helping out!

It isn't so.

I'm sure there are some parent groups out there who act that way, but the vast majority of parent groups that i run across are most concerned about building involvement and helping to create a great atmosphere in which their kids can learn.

We fundraise so we can do our important work. Our important work is not fundraising.

Your principal is completely off-base. he or she especially should know by now the preponderance of evidence supporting the value of involvement.

I know you can make a difference in your school. Your instincts are correct.

I am wondering what the primary purposes of PTO are. Our president tonight just said that we really weren't concerned about the parents spending hours helping out, we just wanted their money. Tell me it ain't so!
