I'm with the majority here, there may be a very good reason as to why they only chose a few parents. It can't hurt to ask and only help to ease your mind, or to give you direction if you feel it was done improperly. Best to get all the facts before forming an opinion.

our school board sends these out to ALL parents, no names required etc. They have been very helpful because they go back to the district office and the school only gets the results, then they are expected to act upon negagive responses and are held accountable by the district to rectify any situation that can be rectified

Our school often sends surveys to new parents to learn more from them. There is also one that goes home to returning families but more often just the new families recieve one.

I agree though, just ask as a matter of curious conversation. Don't be offened, be interested and supportive.

It may not be that big of a deal. Do you know what the survey is in relation to? It could be as simple as the school district needing information on an existing or proposed program that would only pertain to parents in a certain area of the attendance center, or whose children participate in the program, or who meet a certain set of guidelines such as income level.

Find out the facts and approach the topic in a calm and "I'm interested in helping" manner.

Hey Rocky, watch me pull a rabbit out of my hat.

I'd ask anyhow. If it's standard procedure then they'll let you know and if not then you'll get an answer as to why only a small group. I don't think anyone here can tell you if it's standard procedure unless they are in your school district. If you are wanting to participate in the survey (which I'm assuming you do) I'd ask them for the survey and let them know you want to be involved in it.
