Thanks for reply. The rest of the board is on my side with this. If we had to put her termination to vote it would be a majority vote all the way!! Thanks again for the suggestion on what to tell her.

Hi! It is wrong for your principal to make any decisioion on your groups behalf. Your organization is seperate from the school.

Tell your treasurer that what she did is in violation of your bylaws and that she must follow your bylaws or she will need to be removed from her position. Expalin to her that the Principal has no authority over your organization and therfore is not in any position to tell her what she should do. Since you are the president she can only take direction from you and baord decisions. That is it plain and simple! If she does not want to follow your direction and the bylaws then she has no place in your organization.
State this to her matter of factly. This is the way it is and there is no need for an argument. Either she follows the rules or she's out.

Now, I would also speak to your principal. Let him know that what he did caused you to be in violation of your bylaws. Tell him that in the future, he needs to direct this lady to you.

If she stays on I would spend all my effort finding someone to run for her position next year.

Where is the rest of your board on all of this?

Well, as if my situation couldnt get any more dramatic. If you have read my last few posts you know of the difficulties I am having with our tresurer not doing her job etc. She is a teacher so many of us think of her as a conflict of interest. Yesterday her and I were playing phone tag, she was leaving me msgs asking about a bill that was due on the 8th (that she had no idea about until i told her about it) and how she was going to pay it since the new bylaws state that there must be 2 signatures on the checks at all times. Well before I could get ahold of her to tell her that the company has noted to our account that the bill will be a few days late, she called our principal and tells him god knows what and says he said to pay the bill because I already gave her approval to pay it when I sent her the invoice and that is was already approved by lasts year board to pay. When I spoke with her that was the first thing out of her mouth was I talked to "" and he said to go ahead and pay the bill, then I said well I have already spoken with the company and made arrangments for it to be a few days late her response, " WEll I already sent it out"....Not to mention giggling the whole time like she had accomplished something. I was so p.o.ed that i just sat there and said uh huh..and ok the whole confersation, I knew if I was to say anyting I would probably regret it later. Ok here is my question to you guys...Is this wrong for our principal to make these kind of decisions? I thought I was voted in as president to take care of these issues...We have an executive meeting on Tuesday and trust me I will have many many things to say...I feel like I am being pushed over by our only teacher board member and the principal. the rest of the board totally backs me in whole situation so I know I wont have a problem with being alone on these issues. I need your suggestions, comments, ideas anything. What should I do...wait to see if she gets her sh** together of just say Im sorry but I really dont think you are commiting fully to this position and get her OUT!! Please any advice you can give would be great. My last post was in the bylaws section if you need to read it to understand this one. Thanks so much you guys...I dont know what I would do without this forum!!
