I think that's a great idea. That idea crossed my mind this spring when we did Teacher Appreciation. I want to recognize our teachers at our chapel services somehow...haven't figured out with what...a bouquet of flowers or something.

You can go to any awards store and get an inexpensive plaque made up (PTA/PTO recognizes *** for their years of service to (school) and it's children.
Pottery stores can do something where you can have the students sign their names and then it's cooked and painted. (that's a bit more costly though)

Does anyone recognize the number of years teachers have been at a particular school? Our school has been recovering from a redistricting and a subsequent (slower but continuing) loss of valued teachers and active families. In an effort to let our teachers know how much they mean to us (as opposed to bemoaning the loss of the ones who have left), we thought we'd use the Staff Luncheon we host during the teacher work week just before school starts to recognize those staffers who have been at our school for 5 years, 10 years, etc. Something like a corporate employee recognition, but without a corporate budget! I can certainly produce certificates on my computer, but does anyone have any other ideas?
