The problem is that nothing specific has been done to my son , only that I have been warned by other parents to be aware that this is going on --even to the point where his teacher( right now )told me what teacher to stay away from next year.Another teacher just quit with a warning to another parent that she would never send her son to this school. I have asked to talk to this teacher so that I may find out exactly what her concerns are. I hope to talk to her befor filing a complaint.

My oldest is very sensitive to teasing and at the beginning of the year one teacher (7th grade) decided that "she" was his target. Wrong answer. He mainly gave her a nickname that was a terrible variation of our last name and made her life a living nightmare.
I did talk to him, I didn't want to take it to the school admin before I could see if I could reason with him. Fortunatly he had no idea the other kids were calling her the name in the hallway etc. and did stop.
What is the complaint procedure for your school? Ours begins with talking to the person first then the advisors and so on.

Let's hope they didn't realize what they were doing...

teachers who treat boys unfairly was created by allora
My children attend a small private school and I have only been there two years, lately I have been hearing disturbing stories regarding the unfair treatment of boys especially in the upper grades. My son's present teacher and I spoke about what teacher he would have next year and one of the reasons that she recommened the teacher that she did was because she said that the other teacher does not do well with boys. I WAS TOTALLY SHOCKED! I never even thought this was something to be concerned about. Also some of the teachers with children in the school seem to show favoritism to their children (I can see this to a point) but many parents are very upset. Has anybody had these sort of problems and what did you do about it?
