wow this is what i love about this site. What a great idea. Something as little as a inspirational mug can really bring a smile. I know it just did to me. Maybe we will try this as we are getting 6 new teachers and a new pricipal. Our PTO is going to brand new and I would like to get off on the right foot with the staff but not seem like I'm sucking up either. What do you think?

This is my first year as President and what I am looking at doing for our staff is putting together:
A TEACHER'S SURVIVAL KIT
Band-Aid- to heal hurt feelings, your and theirs.
Rubber Band- so you'll always stay flexible.
Marbles- to replace the ones you've lost.
Mint- to remind you that you are worth a "mint".
Penny- so you'll never be broke.
Paperclip- to hold your busy life together.
Crayon- to color your day bright and cheerful.
A stick of Gum to remind you to Stick with it.
A Starburst to give you a Burst of Engery on the days you don't have any.

I thought of putting it all in a coffe mug with a paper stating what each one is.

Just a quick and easy idea that are many other list out there of diffrent things to use for you "kits".

GOOD LUCK ;)

For the past couple of years, our PTO has thrown our teachers a Welcome Back Brunch and at that point, their gifts have been gift certificates to the local teacher supply store. I think the highest they got was $25 one year, but they appreciated every little penny! The teachers spent so much of their own money on stuff for the classroom that this really meant alot to them!

Each year when school starts back the PTA gives our faculty and staff a Welcome Back Gift, and we also set up the lounge for the day starting with muffins, fresh fruit, juice and coffee in the morning and then sandwiches and cold drinks for the first day back. I am looking for some ideas as to what we can do this year. The first year they were in need of amicrowave so we bought that and then made little survial kits for everyone. Last year a local company gave us all sorts of things and we made diddy bags and did not purchase a large item. If anyone has any idea for this year it would be greatly appreciated seeing as how the start of school is right around the corner. Sorry that this was so long winded.
