Officer Difficulties

We recently had our Staff Appreciation week. As usual we always have a Dinner for the Staff. The former Treasurer, myself and the Secretary were there setting up and serving for the Staff. We decided since there were enough pieces of cheesecake we would have a piece before the Staff started to come down and eat. The Secretary got a second piece of cheesecake on a plate right when the Staff started coming down and the former Treasurer and I started to get busy serving etc. Well about 1hr the Treasurer and I noticed that the secretary was back we didnt really notice that she had left until that time. The last staff members to come down were the Lunch Ladies. Right before they came down the Treasurer and I realized that all the cheesecake was gone just the fresh fruit topping was left we felt bad but there wasnt time to get more. The Head Cook asked us if there was any dessert left and the I said No I am sorry we ran out. The Head cook said very loudly and looked directly at the Secretary "Oh well That is a surprise" very sarcastically. The Secretary didnt say much but did get red in the face. Well the Secretary of the School not the PTM came down to eat and my PTM Secretary said"Well if there was any cheesecake you would eat a piece wouldnt you" and the School Secretary said" No I dont like cheesecake but I am sure these ladies(pointing to the lunch ladies)would have liked a piece. Well the former Treasurer and I felt horrible that we had run out and we werent quite certain exactly why they were directing the comments to the PTM Secretary. We all cleaned up and I went upstairs to deliver a few last min Appreciation gifts when the School Secretary said she needed to talk to me. The School Secretary is also the lady that tallies the lunch cards and marks who eats and who doesnt for the kids. The Schopl Secretary explained to me why the lunch ladies and herself were so upset with my PTM Secretary. During the time my former treasurer and I were serving the staff the PTM secretary was taking cheesecake and Garlic bread to her children in the lunchroom. the Lunchladies and the School Secretary made the comment man I hope there is enough cheesecake left I really like cheesecake. So with this problem in hand I waited till I got home and called my secretary and confronted her about the situation. She argues that she only took one piece. I didnt argue the amount but i did put it in this perspective. It doesnt matter how many pieces of food that you took up there the point is that it wasnt for you to take up to your kids. That the dinner was for the Staff not your children and it was showing a bad example to the other children. They didnt get goodies from the Staff dinner your children didnt need to get any either. I had to appraise the Superintendant of what was going on even though he said It was for him not to be involved. Now this PTM secretary has done this similar type thing all year long and I have let it go until now. Should I have done something differently? She is of course very upset and wanted her email of my address book. Says she is going to resign from the PTM. I respect her for who she is but I felt she needed to be called on this problem.

Some advice Please?
