Don't worry, our Principal wasn't even aware there was such a day and odds are your's might not either. You may just tell him/her that in doing some research you discovered a National Principal's Day and although you know it's past, you still want to recognize him or her. We bought our Principal and both assistant Principals lunch from a local restaurant and brought it to them. We also bought our school nurse lunch since we missed the Public School Nurses day. She was happy to even have someone care that they missed the day. She said no one even paid attention before. Our Principals were pleased and kept thanking us for making them feel "special".

OH NO! I didn't have this date on my calendar. We have been tryng to form a good relationship with our principal and although it still feels rocky it doesn't feel right to forget her all together ESPECIALLY when I'm currently planning on the Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week with a Luncheon, Balloons, Banner, Pictures, Cards a Trivia game w/prize. HELP! How can we rise above this oversite?

KC got my brain going!!! (just a fair warning )

*Can you get the school lunch that day to be a fun Hawiian theme?

* Oriental Trading has great tropical theme items for this! Maybe you can order a lei for the teachers and students!!

* Don't forget the beautiful flowers that are found in Hawaii!

*I love the food bank idea! In this economy, it's a great idea!

* If you can't do the school lunch maybe just the teachers and principal can be treated to a small "Hog Roast" with burgers and fresh salads served outside in a picnic area (weather permitting).

*DON"T FOGET THE GRASS SKIRTS!!! ;)

I could have fun with this!!!!!!!!

Since you can't take him to Hawaii, bring Hawaii to him. Give him a Hawaiian shirt and a lei. If you can get the word out behind his back, invite every student to bring him a can of pineapple, and then donate the cans to a local food bank in his name.
