Do your bylaws reference RRO as the default set of rules for all other circumstances?

If so, theres plenty of guidelines in RRO for special meetings, you can find them online too. just enter Roberts Rules of ORder into search engine and you will find the sites.

Typically there are no meetings -if you are at a puublic school- that should not be recoreded, and shared with constituents, if you are subject to open meeting rules which it sounds like you are since your super cited them.

Our president called a special meeting of the officers to discuss a committee chair as recommended by the ass't prin. Does the secretary need to present minutes of this meeting, if so, does this need to be brought up at the next PTO mtg for those minutes to be approved. Now the superintendent thinks this may have violated the open meeting act. Bylaws do not state anything regarding special officers mtgs. There were no votes taken at this meeting, just discussed how to best handle this situation. Any help to determine if this meeting was illegal or if minutes of this meeting are to be presented would be appreciated.
