It depends how your purpose reads, but it's probably just fine. As long as you have something in there about 'fostering relationships' or 'enhancing the school environment' etc., it's well within your purpose.

Are year end promotions and year end graduation parties considered acceptable activities for a 501(c)3 PTO? Are 5th graders have traditionally had a year end promotion and party, which our PTO has funded. Is this okay?
