ptoclueless is there already a principal for this school? I would be hesitant to do alot of formal paperwork until you meet with them. You can brainstorm and get ideas but I would caution on fundraising until the principal is set with this. That would include the banking issue...I think your hands may be tied for awhile.

But
How will you elect officers, know who potential members will be, figure out objectives for enhancing cirriculum if the school isnt built yet?
You need 2 have a member base to decide on issues and vote

Starting a new PTO was created by ptoclueless
There is a new school being built in our neighborhood which our kids will be attending in Fall 07. I was thinking that establishing a PTO now would be a good way to get fundraising started ahead of time. Do you have a resource which can help us figure out how to start our own chapter or any ideas? Is this even feasble to do before the school is even built? An ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.
