Where to get Roberts Rules

18 years 2 months ago #61255 by Critter
Not trying to pick a fight between the merits of online vs. paper, but just to clarify....I have 2 little summary RRO books, 125 pages each, each edited by a different person, and each costing about $5. I bought 2 different books (from the many choices at Borders) so I could compare their interpretations on an issue. No, they're not exactly what Major Robert wrote down, but they're written in a way I can understand.

Critter - how nice to hear you actually READ your RRO - i wish our PTO would follow it, but alas, they seem to do the opposites sometimes...i call it RRRO reverse RRO!
anyway, as a parent member of the school, i dont think everyone can afford, nor is it worth the investment, to buy a book if the need is just for a quick reference or fact finding mission.....thats where the beauty of the online version comes in...its quicker than checking it out at the library, and some engines let you search the text for exactly what youre looking for.

It's nice to have online access for quick reference, but I like having a real book. My 2 copies are all marked up, highlighted, with pages folded down. I refer to them often and will pass them along to the next president in their well-worn state.

OK here is a more recent link, in my haste i picked the first one i googled....its not the one our PTO uses,,,we use:

www.rulesonline.com/start.html

should bring you to:

Robert's Rules of Order Newly Revised (10th Edition) © 2000, (abbreviated RONR)

if you want other versions, just enter RRO (spelled out fully) into google and you will get many versions. yes, 1915 is a bit outdated, but then so is our PTO!!!! ha ha ha ha. was a joke.
