Need help desperatly

Have people just lost their minds? This was complete and total bad judgment on the part of these two members who clearly have no regard for a vote or the process of your organization. If it were me I would ask both women to resign. I would tell them that parents and teachers have called for their resignations due to their behavior. If they refuse to resign then you should hold a vote at your next meeting to remove them from their positions. To be unhappy about a vote is one thing, but to try to take matters into your own hands and run around trying to strong arm and harass people into your position is so bad for the orgainzation and not very ethical on their part. If they would do this then what else are they capable of doing?
What is wrong with your principal? I know that often times principals do not want to get involved in little squabbles, but I think this is beyond that and he should not be accepting of board member running around his school harassing teachers and parents.

Sorry-thought you didn't want to replace the laminator...the committee is the same though and once the results are in, if you choose to form said committee, then its done. The other approach is to say the vote stands and move on. This ain't Florida and there's no hanging chads...the decision is the decision...d

Wow--I cannot imagine having this happen..I think as President I would approach the ladies and remind them that once a vote is cast, the issue is decided. Let them know that their actions are only hurting the organization and if they feel strongly about the issue, they can request that a committee be formed to research the need and present their findings to the PTO at a future meeting. They also always have the right to organize an outside cake sale or something as parents to support the requirement outside of the PTO but that would be their only options. If the PTO, upon receiving the report from the disinterested committee, still believes that there is no need to fund, then you have done your part to bring the entire issue to light. I would also, at the next meeting or the one after that, broach some sort of amendment to the bylaws that allows a 3/4 vote to remove any member that the body believes is working at odds with the stated purposes of the group. I think 3/4s is what Robert's Rules says but you'd need to research. That will send hte message that you ain't tolerating this type of mutinous behaviour without actually threatening them. But be sure, if you move to oust these folks, that you have the power and ability to do so. Otherwise you will have no end to their antics and might actually lose the war for this battle....
Just my thoughts...

Hello, i will try to be brief i am the praz of my childrens pto again this year here is our issue last meeting was an absolute scream feast do to two officers who refused to want to pay for any teachers request. after they were out voted they decided to call each of the parents at home and try and get them to change their votes. Then they went into school during the school day and approached one of the teachers to continue to argue why the pto should not pay to replace a 14year old broken laminator. the parents who recieved these calls as well as the teacher who was approached have called angry about the situation. they would like these officers removed only problem we have no guidelines as how to do this there is nothing in our bylaws about getting rid of anyone. princepal dosent want to be involved and our parents are threating not to come back. these two i am afraid will call and harras the parents if a letter is sent asking for their resignation. scared of them myself as i have already been verbally abused by these terrors...
