Thank you so much for the response Critter
Makes sense the principal does not change as much as the board members.

Once again Thank you so much

Our principal is our registered agent, and the school's address is our address. Our annual renewal paperwork comes to his attention, and he passes it along to us. If he leaves, we will file a change with the state to identify the new principal/registered agent.

At the federal level, you need to submit your current officers' names with your 501c3 application. Each year, after your elections, you just write a letter to the IRS with the updates. No biggy.

Struggling with oregon's artile of incorporation.
Our PTC realized lat year we did not have a 501c3 status. So we began with the process with bylaws. that is where the last President left it she became overwhelmed with all the paperwork.
I have been put in the position to get this completed. I am now the PTC president.
Reviewing all the information, it is in the best interest to become incorporated however in the State of Oregon you have to have a "registered agent".

The registered agent is the person who will be served with any legal papers regarding corporation business. The registered agent is not liable or required to respond, but should be someone who will be responsible to see that the papers reach the appropriate person in the organization.

Ok so the deliema is application cost 50.00. so when there is a change to the registered agent submitt a new application?
Having that PTO's are organizations that change frequently how does this work. can the school be the address for the registered agent?
I would put myself down as the registered agent however this is my son's last year at the school, I will not be able to serve on the board after this year.
SORRY about the legnth of the posting. Attempting to work with other Presidents in school district no one returning my call. :(
