Merging PTAs?

Hi! Our school system did a bit of restructuring & 2 of the in-town schools merged their PTOs. Mass confusion!! This year they closed my school(7 yrs. on that PTO) so I decided to join this PTO & was asked to take over as they need organization & I am the only one with experience. I think if you go in with an agenda & discuss one school first then the other it might help keep things less confusing. Everyone can share their ideas. I'd start with the minutes(one secretary)& then each treasurer's report & go from there. Good Luck!!!

We are a PTA currently serving a student population of over 800 at an elementary and an intermediate school. We are considering merging with our middle school PTSA due to lack of leadership at that school. Has anyone else done this and has it been successful?
We are talking that their current members would make up a committee focusing on the middle school. They would have sub committees for fundraising, programs, events, etc. The money they raise would be in a separate account also, but only our current board would have access.
We are meeting today but I would still like some feedback from anyone who has done this.
Thank you much!
Debbie
