Desparate for some new bylaws

Here is a suggestion. We just rewrote our bylaws last year. I was the 2nd vice president and called on two members to assist me. These were not people I knew.
I then went to the web. Typed in PTO bylaws and from there printed about 5 different sets of bylaws for each person. I also did this for each officer just so they could see what a real set looked like. We then went through our pto's 2 page set and it bacame about 6 pages.
Of course this usually happens when there have been problems. There are some that really have some off the wall stuff but obviously some pto's have worse problems than others.
But if you are a registered non profit pto, I don't see how she can go to thosse extremes. Good Luck

We have come across some problems in our pto and have found that our bylaws are way to vague. We are needing to incorporate some my specific laws that include what responsibilities the principal has to the pto. We have a principal that decided she did not want to work with the board that was elected...or she felt we were not doing what we should be doing. She came in and decided to make our teacher reps. the secretary of the pto and our school secretary the pto treasurer. We had a meeting with her this is when she informed us that she was doing this. We decided we needed to find out if she could do this, our bylaws don't say much. We just found out also that she took the fundraiser money and her and the "new tresurer" (our school sectretay) went and opened a new account to deposit that money into. She took the fundraiser from us in the beginning and told us that the company would do all the work for us. That to us was breaking the contract since she did not sign the contract, our pto pres. did. Any help would be greatlly appreciated and any one who has some copies of bylaws we would like to get copies of them to see if we can use some of them. Thanks alot!!
