Most groups don't move so fast that large amounts of money being spent are worked out in one meeting. If you want to know what your PTO is up to, ask them to send you a monthly copy of the minutes after the meeting or a copy of the agenda prior to a meeting. We are a school of 470 and only 5 parents regularly attend the meetings, if we held off decisions from one month to the next trying to get more people to come, it's very possible we wouldn't get a lot done.

i was wondering your thoughts on this.
if there is something substantial to be voted on and has been brought up. do you think it is reasonable to vote on it the next meeting, after sending out a notification to the parents, that it has been brought up to let say..purchase a piece of playground equipment and it will be voted on such and such date, making those parents who may participate to a great degree bhind the scenes aware that it would be important to know where they stand on this.
do you think this is unreasonable? i see people that work hard but perhaps may not be able to come to the meetings all the time yet sell agressivly for the fundraisers. participate in working them, field trips etc.
