Is there some issue as to why you wouldn't want the teachers/staff to vote?
Our bylaws state that to be an officer you must have a child in our school. Anyone who supports and upholds our bylaws and mission can become a member and vote.

Anyone can vote at our school as long as they are a PTA member and 100% of our teachers and aides are members. Comes in handy when we need a quorom, we can pull in the librarian or an un-busy teacher. Honestly, we have so little controversy at our school that when someone voted differently at our last meeting that we were all suprised, but no one was mad or anything.

Our by laws say you must be a member. They only way you can be a member is if you have a child(foster, grandchild, whatever is appropriate)OR staff member.

I have a general question regarding ALL Teachers voting. This is the first year we have actually went by what our bylaws say because we didn't know they existed. We have never brought anything to the school to vote on because we thought it stopped w/the Executive Board.

Because it is a PTO - does that automatically give ALL Teachers/Staff the right to vote on all topics? I'm just wondering if anyone has come across this type of situation. It says in our current bylaws that you must have a child in order to be eligible to vote.
