Does a person running for Vice President have to have kids that attend our school?

Why would someone who didn't teach at or have kids at your school want to be in the PTO????

Our bylaws state that you have to be a member in good standing (read; paid dues, attends meetings, and participates.)

Our by-laws state that an officer/member must have a child attending our school or be a staff member.

Robert's Rules wouldn't cover that specific a case, but your bylaws should/might.

Have you checked those?

Does a person running for Vice President need to have kids that attend our school, in order to be an PTO Officer?

We have a dad who wants to be vice president of our PTO, but his children attend another school. I think it is in Robert Rules that a PTO officer must have children in our school.
Help!!
Thanks-Beth
